Articles of the Week

g that it has always been this way, doesn’t count as a legitimate justification to why it should stay that way. Teacher and administrators all over the world are doing amazing things, but some of the things we are still doing, despite all the new solutions, research and ideas out there is, to put it mildly, incredible. I’m not saying we should just make the current system better… we should change it into something else. I have compiled a list of 14 things that are obsolete in 21st century schools and it is my hope that this will inspire lively discussions about the future of education.

Tech Tips

  1. Spotlight has been an integral part of OS X for the better part of the last decade. This Swiss army knife utility may seem like a simple search bar, but there’s a ton more functionality just beneath the surface.
  2. Fantastic curration of available coding aps, segregated by age level.
  3. OS X: The Pomodoro Technique is a great way to stay focused and on task, but to really follow through on it, you’ll need a timer to match your work sessions. WorkBurst is a new timer that takes the clock-watching out of the equation. Work until the screen dims, then it’s time for a break.P
