Tech Tips

  1. The most strong and popular web design trend over last couple of years is a sliding horizontal panels also known as Sliders or Carousels. It’s a very effective method to increase the web site usability and engage the user. WOW Slider is a responsive jQuery image slider with amazing visual effects (Domino, Page, Rotate, Blur, Flip, Blast, Fly, Blinds, Squares, Slices, Basic, Fade, Ken Burns, Stack, Stack vertical, Basic linear, Book, Cube and Seven) and tons of professionally made templates. WOW Slider is packed with a point-and-click wizard to create fantastic sliders in a matter of seconds without coding and image editing. WordPress slider plugin and Joomla slider module are available also. Also, you can share your slider on Facebook.
  2. Jing – Download softonic.com
Jing is a fun and free way to capture stills, videos, and portions of screens during videos (that last part making it most powerful). Oh, it is free. Oh, and there is both a PC and a Mac version.
  3. Getty Images is dropping the watermark for the bulk of its collection, in exchange for an open-embed program that will let users drop in any image they want, as long as the service gets to append a footer at the bottom of the picture with a credit and link to the licensing page. For a small-scale WordPress blog with no photo budget, this looks an awful lot like free stock imagery.
  4. sign into twitter Sign up with twitter if you don’t already have an account. You’ll be securely authenticated and returned to tchat.io. # enter a hashtag Enter the hashtag you want to follow for the chat. We’ll filter out all other tweets so you can focus on discussing one topic. Not sure where to start? See what’s trending right now. chat start chatting!
