Moodle HQ has released Moodle 2.5, a major update to the widely distributed open source learning management system. The new version also adds support for badges, allowing teachers and institutions to award badges to users for work accomplished based on various criteria, such as completing a course or completing work within a course. Moodle badges are compatible with Mozilla’s Open Badges standard and can be displayed in users’ profiles or pushed out to their Open Badges backpacks. (Public backpacks can also be displayed in users’ profiles.) - ePortfolios as Badges – A Badge System Design for Learning by Creating | HASTAC

Parents want to see good grades. Grades are good, right? Of course they are, but the grades should not be the only goal. Learning for the sake of it should be a goal, including what they learned, how long they remembered it, and how they applied it to new situations.

High School : Block Posters. Create large wall posters from any image for free! Upload an image from your computer and choose how many sheets wide you would like your poster to be once printed. Once you’re happy with your selection, you can download the PDF file containing your newly created images and print each one massively blown up, resulting in a huge pixel poster to stick on your wall. Remember, the higher the resolution the original image, the less pixelation you’ll see on the finished project.
