Do you ever feel like your social media is running away from you? Or that you can’t seem to get started because you are worried about managing it? Do you ever get annoyed at those people who seem to be able to post daily quickly and easily on every site? I’ve felt all those things and then I found Hootsuite. Hootsuite claims that it will allow you to manage and measure all your social media sites and so far I’ve found that claim to be true. When you sign up for Hootsuite you get a dashboard where you can add as many of your social media sites as you would like. Then you can download the plugin for your browser and as you are online you can easily send out a tweet. My favorite part is that you can also schedule those tweets so that they don’t come out all at once and you can choose which social media sites you want that article or picture to be posted to.
Can’t think of anything at the moment other than the fact that this makes posting to social media incredibly easy and depending on what you post, you may start to annoy or intimidate your friends.
If you use twitter in your classroom this is a great way to schedule out announcements and easily post to multiple platforms. This also makes it easier to follow hashtags which can sometimes be a pain to deal with on twitter.
Do I plan to use it?
Commitment and Learning Curve
Medium. The basic package has most of what you will want but learning about all the different bells and whistles that are included can take some time.
Best for ES MS or HS?
This is mostly a teacher tool. Although, if you have a digital citizenship class in HS this is a great tool to talk about.
The basic package is free and then the more you start to use, the more expensive it gets.
